Our focus is the health and wellbeing of all our patients and making a difference in their lives. We treat every patient with compassion as they take steps to improve their mental health.

At GatewayTMS we:

  • Accept most major insurance plans
  • Are leading the way in the treatment of depression with TMS

The Neurostar TMS treatment works by activating the neurotransmitters with a magnetic field so they may begin to function as they should by correcting an electrical dysfunction in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. Clinical studies have proven TMS to be an effective treatment for medication-resistant depression.
Treatments generally last for 20-40 minutes, 5 days a week for 4-6 weeks. For your treatment, one of our highly skilled and experienced technicians administer the Neurostar TMS procedure in one of our tranquil treatment rooms as you remain awake and relax in one of our comfort-designed reclining chairs. Using a specially-designed coil contoured to fit the shape of your head to prevent slippage, the magnetic treatment is administered as you relax in our spa-like atmosphere. During the treatment, you’ll hear a clicking sound and may feel a rhythmic tapping sensation on your head but side effects are rare and the procedure is designed to be non-invasive, unlike antidepressants or electric shock therapies. The treatment has been approved by the FDA and is so mild that when it’s over, you simply go home. There’s no downtime.

GatewayTMS is happy to provide you with an initial consultation so we can work with you to determine whether or not TMS is the right treatment for you. Prior to treatment, one of our caring doctors will determine whether or not TMS treatment at GatewayTMS could be an effective solution and if so, will explain everything so you will know what to expect for your first treatment. We collaborate with your current health care provider or mental health care professional to achieve the best possible outcome. For many, TMS is a lifesaver and they can achieve a reduction in symptoms of depression or even a complete remission. We also work with your insurance company to determine whether or not your treatment is covered under your plan.

Depression is typically treated with antidepressants which can be effective if the right one is found. But finding an effective antidepressant can take a lot of trial and error, as well as time, and often a mixture of more than one is needed. For many, that right antidepressant is never really found or sometimes the harsh side effects that come along with antidepressants are just too difficult to endure. This is when TMS is used. It’s non-invasive with minimal side effects. Unlike antidepressants, TMS treats only the area of the brain where depression comes from, instead of affecting all of the cells of your body.

Anyone who has ever suffered from the debilitating effects of depression knows how hard it is to do simple, everyday things. Treatment using TMS can provide relief from the depression symptoms that hold you back. GatewayTMS can be an important step on your way to relief or remission from your worst depression symptoms and regaining control of your life.
